Union in Houston

While extras don't need union membership, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) provides valuable resources for actors.

For either union, having a headshot and resume on file at the AFTRA headquarters' "extras" section is crucial.

Joining the Screen Actors Guild, also known as SAG-AFTRA, requires fulfilling specific criteria beforehand. The first hurdle is belonging to a different performers union for at least a year. Consider joining the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, or AFTRA, as a starting point. Additionally, you'll need to have secured at least one acting role classified as a principal performer under that union's rules.
